Residency with Radio Concrete
Hagai Izenbergcame to The Hague to record with me for Radio Concrete. We spent seven hours together, with his hacked toys, recording live radio that we picked up, aligning things with field recordings that I had made of my daily life in preparation for this day, and adding a touch of the grand piano at Studio LOOS to it too. We created a piece called A Mad(wo)man’s Tale. Here is a description of Radio Concrete:
Radio Concrete is a monthly radio show and an ongoing experimental project which deals with sounds that we are exposed to every day in the public and domestic spheres, often in passing or involuntarily. Listen to Radio Concrete.
Fresh raw materials including field recordings of our everyday routine, samples and loops from tv & radio, news editions and advertisements are all gathered on a regular basis and then mixed together on live radio broadcasting.
It has been played live in all kinds of venues and also got a regular spot on Resonance Extra (UK), Radio Manobras (ITA), WGXC (US) and on Halas.am (ISR).
